Visual Development and Illustration

Enya Zheng

Hi! I’m a visual development artist and illustrator, based in New York, with a passion for creating worlds and telling stories through pictures. I love a variety of topics, as long as it’s heartfelt or fun, and just want to bring about some occasional whimsy to the world. I earned my BFA in illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design.

In my visual development work I specialize in beat paintings, colour scripts, colour keys and prop designs. I love a sweeping landscape, a quiet contemplative moment, or an intense character action scene!

In illustration, my passion is in publishing. I work from children’s picture books to middle grade book covers, and look to make the story felt through the colour and light of my work. I look to create work about friendships, joy, and celebrating differences, but also love a powerful landscape!

On my free time I like to either plein air paint, play dnd with my friends (my character is a literal Onion) or go swing dancing!
